Last Yak

Almost a month has already flown by!! I’m not too sure what I really expected when I initially signed up for this trip, but I definitely did not anticipate that I would make such great friends and learn as much as I did. Beyond my interactions with Bolivian food and culture, I have been exposed to so many amazing people that have taught me so much about community and gratitude. I am so lucky to have been able to be surrounded by/immersed in an indigenous culture that so authentically celebrates people and the earth and everything in between. Looking at snow-capped mountains , petting bunnies, dancing with the Troneros, planting peach trees, discussing how to properly grieve, and so much more has made me so much more thankful for my loved ones, myself, and the world around me.

I can’t wait to tell everyone at home everything!!

Love,

Leila
