Yesterday I was filling in our daily log and saw that we are more than 20 days into our program! I can’t tell if time is moving fast or slow but it has been great the past week to be staying at the farm in Tiquipaya.
Monday to Friday the students arrive at 8am from their respective home stays and check in with us before their Spanish courses. Around noon they all walk back to eat lunch with their families and in the afternoon they will either go to their Independent Study Projects (ISP) or listen to one of the many interesting speakers we have lined up for them!
It has been surreal for me to walk around the city of Cochabamba these past days. I grew up in this city but it’s been a year since I last visited and a decade since I lived here. While at times it’s a bit stressful to be in a large group of – let’s call them energetic – students, I have enjoyed showing them the parts of this city that are important to me. We might even get a chance to spend a night camping at my house that is on the other side of town.
Expect to see some student yak posts this week because we are scheduling time into their busy schedules to that they can share some of their experiences!
