On the road again

Hello friends, family, and Dragons community,

Our days in Bolivia have flown by!  We started the week with our fabulous homestay families in Tiquipaya using the organic farm Granja Pollen as our homebase and classroom space.  Every morning began with private Spanish lessons, which included a trip to the Cancha in Cochabamba – one of the biggest open air market in Latin America – and cooking lessons with all the bounty from the market.

During our first two afternoons in Tiquipaya, students chose independent study projects, ranging from Bolivian cooking classes to street art with Bolivia’s most famous ‘graffitero.’  We also spent an afternoon at an organic permaculture farm called Chakra Feliz learning about sustainable agriculture.  On Thursday, we had a climate change workshop with the Dragons educator course.

On Friday, we headed out to Samaipata, a small community in Bolivia’s lowland region known for its permaculture farms.  After a few days of transference activities and visiting the UNESCO World Heritage pre-Incan ruins “El Fuerte,” we are heading to Santa Cruz for our last night in Bolivia.

Catch you on the flip side!
