Greetings from the Road

Nepal is a very unique place. The people are quite religious and friendly too. In the morning that we left, a monk gave a few of us a blessing and it was eye-opening. The people are very accepting of foreigners. Unlike Americans, they are quiet and comfortable around strangers. The new sights, smells, tastes, and atmospheres are a brisk change from the standard American feel. Staying in a guest house is incredible. The monastery is interesting to be so close to. The sound that resonates throughout the grounds gives a sense of holy healthiness. The monks put out flowers on the stupas, which are religious statues, There is a calming effect caused by proximity to this site. On the roof, one can experience the view of the city from above. There are cats that lounge on the roof of a building nearby that show how much this city can relax one that is usually alert. Kathmandu is a destination that grows the soul. Nepal is an amazing place to be and to have been.
