Day in Shanghai

Today, we spent the first day in the heart of Shanghai. As a group, we were given the opportunity to explore the metropolitan area through a scavenger hunt. In this scavenger hunt, we had to work as a group and navigate through Shanghai in order to meet several objectives. In order to meet these objectives, we had to communicate with local natives, utilize public transportation, and try local Shanghai dishes. First, we traveled to The People’s Square by subway, and then walked along Nanjing Road exploring local cuisine along the way. The highlight of our day came from witnessing the famous and beautiful view on the Shanghai Bund. On the Bund, we talked to locals about their favorite Shanghai foods and the famous sayings of Shanghai. In addition, we visited a local Chinese pharmacy and learned about the use of traditional medicines. We’re looking forward to another day in the bustling city and to seeing the more rural parts of China!
