Pre-Course Assignment

Kidayra l-Firqa l-Maghribia (How is the Morocco Team)?,

In no time at all, 18 days to be exact, our plane will touch down in Casablanca, and we will begin to experience firsthand the incredible diversity of Morocco. We will adventure into the labyrinthine passageways of Fez, trek down the slopes of the High Atlas, and relax in the coastal waters of the Atlantic. As we travel from one point to the next, the Morocco I-Team would like you to have as much knowledge as possible, because knowledge is power! We have created a Pre-Course Assignment that allows us all to discover more about the locations we will be visiting. Your task is to research a specific city on our itinerary. Please come prepared to present a few minutes of information on your assigned city. Look specifically at its’ traditions, geography, language, and history. Be aware that your presentation will take place either before we arrive in the city or shortly after, so checkout our tentative itinerary on the Yak Board to find out when you’ll be presenting. Your particular city is listed below.

  • Nicole F. – Moulay Idriss
  • Melanie H. – Volubilis
  • Ava J. – Fez
  • Jackson L. – Imouzzer Kandar
  • Henry L. – Er-Rich
  • Alisa M. – Imilchil
  • Braiden P. – Tinghir
  • Stefan R. – Goulmima
  • Emma S. – Ouarzazate
  • Abril T. – Marrakech
  • Meredith W. – Sidi Kaouki
  • Courtney Y. – Casablanca

Finally, when engaging in rugged travel, there is inevitably going to be down time. Please come prepared to lead one fun game or team building activity that we can all participate in. Here are some ideas: mafia, minefield, or lifeboat. Good luck with your research, and we will see you sooner than later!

B’slama (Goodbye),

The Morocco I-Team

P.S. Don’t forget to post your Yak Board introduction!
