We imagine that you’re in the process of purchasing gear, packing and in general preparing yourself for your course here in Bolivia. We wanted to give you a few tips on packing and what you can expect here in country. Please refer to your packing list for a list of recommended and also keep the following points in mind.
Weather: While it’s bright and warm in the Northern Hemisphere, down here in the south it’s Winter. It’s the coldest time of the year here in Bolivia so please remember to pack some warm clothes, we will be camping at times. Layers are also great since it can be up to 70 during the day and 25 at night!
“Normal” Clothes: Remember that amidst all the technical travel-oriented gear that your bringing to also pack some everyday clothes for our time in homestay. You’ll appreciate having at least one set of clothes that you would feel comfortable in at home.
Cultural Norms: Bolivian culture is what Western cultures refer to as “conservative”. What that means is that you won’t see people wearing revealing clothing. Please keep this in mind as you pack.
Fun: If you like cards, small games or books, please bring them, something small that won’t be a big burden and will be fun for you in downtime.
