Hey guys!

My name is Page Proctor, and I’m so hype to travel across China with all of you!

I’m 17 years old, a current junior/rising senior at Penn Charter, a Quaker school in Philadelphia. I was born in Charlottesville, VA, but I’ve lived in Philly for 6 years with my younger brother and two rescue dogs, although I also sometimes spend time in Irvine, CA. I’m a proud Philly girl — the city’s culture is so unique and it has the best food and music scene of anywhere I’ve lived by far.

I love traveling and spending time outdoors as far off the beaten path as possible. This past summer, I backpacked the last 200 miles of the Appalachian Trail — definitely the greatest challenge and most fun I’ve ever had. I also love canoeing, rock climbing, wildlife photography, or just walks with my dogs. I have a huge passion for the environment and can’t wait to take care of some yaks!!

When I’m not somewhere in the wilderness, I love to bake, read, draw, write, or deep dive into Spotify and Netflix. My TV and music preferences range from trashy to classy and everything in between. I enjoy making eclectic playlists for very specific moods, some have rap, r&b, showtunes, alternative, and indie rock all at once. Even though I can find something in every genre, I think my favorites are Frank Ocean, Brockhampton, J Cole, Panic! at the disco, and the entire Hamilton soundtrack.

In school, I really enjoy Model UN, the acapella group, ethics bowl, language club (I’m very much an English nerd), and pole vaulting. I’ve been learning Mandarin for 5 years, and was lucky enough to go to China on a school exchange trip two years ago, where I stayed with families in Tianjin, Chongqing, and Beijing, and also had two Chinese students stay with me in Philly. I had such an great time and made amazing new friends, plus the food was pretty great too!! We spent the whole time in modern cities and went to all the classic tourist sites, so I’m really excited to see other parts of China and experience the diverse cultures within the country.

This will be such an awesome trip, I can’t wait to meet you all in LA in a few weeks!!
