Why We Travel

The passage, “the sovereign freedom of traveling comes from the fact that it whirls you around and turns you upside down, stands everything you took for granted on its head,” resonates with me because I have traveled to many places in my life time, and nothing is predictable. Everywhere you go, something unexpected or foreign will likely occur and you need to understand how t0 respond to it. Although it can be unpredictable, it can be fascinating, educational, and it is enlightening to learn about the different customs of the many countries of the world. Being exposed to other cultures will also help guide you into examining your own life and outlook on the world around you. Traveling can put you in a place where you may not be comfortable, so it is best to be open-minded when in these situations.
