Introduction – Raif Wexler

Hello friends! My name is Raif Wexler and I am from a northern suburb of Chicago, IL. I just graduated high school and will be attending Bard College in upstate New York next year in the hopes of majoring in environmental studies. I am very excited to learn in a liberal arts environment because I think it will help me grow as a student and creative thinker. Some of my favorite activities include filmmaking, hiking, snowboarding, guitar, and stage crew. I will happily talk to anyone about music or movies. A few of my favorite musical artists include Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, Pink Floyd and Wilco.

I first heard of Where There Be Dragons through my brother who attended a hiking intensive trip in Peru many years ago. I am incredibly interested in Bhutan from a sustainable/environmental standpoint as well as experiencing a culture that is founded on values of happiness and peace. I look forward to learning about the natural geography, their religious practices and studying language among many other things. I can’t wait to hear about all of you and meet everyone!
