Mindfulness Retreat

We’ve just returned from a 3-day excursion to Thailand, our third country visited to date on course. Located just a short journey across the great Mekong River that acts as the boundary with Laos, we stayed at Wat Hin Mak Peng, a Buddhist Temple and Monastery. Our days started with practicing meditation from 3-5 am, followed by tham wat chao, or morning chanting. We had the opportunity to ask all of our burning questions on life and spirituality to the head monk and other members of the community, and while the early mornings and fasting posed a unique challenge for us all, we left with full inspiration tanks and renewed vitality for the remaining weeks of our journey and beyond. With only one week left in Laos, we head north to Luang Prabang, an ancient capital city and an oasis of Buddhist culture and architecture.
