From Amman to Petra

Hey everyone! My name is Jaime, and I’m a senior. Today was a day of conclusions and new beginnings. This morning we left Amman, a city I and others have come to love dearly. The hospitality and cultural dynamism of the city made leaving painful; nevertheless, we were excited to embark on the next chapter of our journey. In the morning we visited the Ecopeace organization, where we discussed the geopolitics surrounding water in the Middle East and international initiatives to salvage the Dead Sea. Before reaching our final destination in Wadi Musa (Petra), we stopped at the Dead Sea, where students spent some delightful hours wading in the water and sharing personal stories. After a long and scenic drive through the canyons leading to Wadi Musa, we arrived in the town, parting ways with our driver and preparing for the hike to Petra tomorrow. We look forward to sharing more of our experiences in the coming days!
