Hey guys!

My name is Marissa and I’m from Portland, Oregon. I have lived in Portland my whole life, and I have loved exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I just graduated from Lincoln High School, and I am planning on going to Washington University in St. Louis next fall. In college I want to study some combination of international business, Latin America, and Spanish, but I am excited to see if this program will change any of that.

I live with my parents and my two adorable puppies. We have a standard poodle named Cleo and a norwich terrier named Lucy. I also have an older brother who is a sophomore at Wash U.

In high school I played on the tennis team and participated in a few organizations outside of school, including a Jewish youth group and AFS (American Field Service). During my sophomore year I spent the summer living with a host family in Argentina, working on my Spanish and learning about the culture. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had, and I am excited to have some similar experiences throughout this program.

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, hiking, photography, and finding fun new restaurants and parks. I’m not sure what I want to do for my ISP, but I’m thinking either batik or cooking.

I am super excited to meet you guys and experience Indonesia together!
